Brainstorming Session about cross-border M&A

Discuss issues related to cross-border M&A, particularly the acquisition of innovative Indian startups by major US corporations.

As a leader in your organization, we strongly believe that you could provide us valuable inputs and ideas that will help improve M&A activity in the US-India corridor around software products. We expect about 10-12 M&A leaders at market leading companies will attend the meeting, along with key representatives of M&A Connect program at iSPIRT.

Why this meeting?

Everyone is familiar with the success of Indian software industry that has grown into US$100 billion in annual revenue. Over several years now, the industry is also witnessing a huge boom in enterprise software, web, mobile and cloud products. Despite the fact that India has three times as many product startups as Israel , a big domestic market that is relatively untapped and cultural affinity with Silicon Valley , we do not see sufficient number of M&A deals happening.

This Position Paper highlights reasons behind this muted M&A activity, from an Indian perspective. This meeting plans to gather insights on these issues from the US perspective and factor them into action items that would help the movement.
