iSPIRT M&A PlaybookRT: Assisting product entrepreneurs in their readiness for a successful M&A.

Despite huge innovation and rising entrepreneurship, most Indian product companies are invisible on the global map. The reasons are many, but a big one is the lack of meaningful exits for companies that actually create value in their product markets.
This Playbook RoundTable is brought to you by M&A Connect a key initiative of iSPIRT that aims to assist product entrepreneurs in their readiness for a successful M&A.
This M&A PlaybookRT will be led by Jay Pullur and is intended for companies that have a software product (consumer or enterprise), have initial customers (market validation) and are likely to consider an M&A exit. Jay Pullur, founder & CEO of Pramati Technologies has the experience of four such transactions in the tech space, including deals with leading technology players such as Autodesk and VMWare. On this team from M&A Connect would be, Sanjay Shah, Head of Invesys Skelta in India, who also has the experience of a good M&A transaction.
iSPIRT M&A Connect has been instrumental in putting together a 3-year action plan that aims to drastically improve cross-border M&A between Indian product startups and US technology buyers. Having captured the core issues from seller’s perspective in a position paper published in March 2013, the team visited Silicon Valley to meet with prominent technology buyers in the month of May. The Action Plan drafted post the buyer’s meet, has identified action items in 4 major buckets (1) Facilitate Discovery, (2) Reduce Friction, (3) Promote Readiness, and (4) Construct an Ecosystem. The PlaybookRT is part of the readiness building process.
The RoundTable will be interactive and will help executives and entrepreneurs understand the need, process and issues surrounding a successful M&A, particularly with cross-border acquirers.

The session is open to the company’s CEO or head of strategy/product. Applications are due by the 20th July. The goal is to have at most 12 companies so as to make the interaction effective. If there are other interested attendees, we will arrange subsequent workshops. We will confirm the short-listed companies by 25th July 2013. This PlaybookRT is FREE and there are no charges.
