Designathon 2013 – An Initiative by TLabs

Many of you would have already heard about the shiny new initiative of TLabs –TLabs Designathon 2013. This builds up on our Design Day initiatives and takes our commitment to create a design community around TLabs to the next level.
This 28-hour event is a hackathon for designers. It will see a large number of designers from all over the country, including some from Mumbai, Pune and Chennai, compete for a huge prize money of ₹1,50,000 plus two Filmfare tickets. The format is simple: you come and register as a team of two on 18th evening. You are given a set of 3-4 problems from which you pick the one which appeals you the most. For the next 22 hours, you crack your wits to solve tough interface design challenges. In the end, you present your solution to the eminent jury for 2 min and win the grand prize.
The best part about it all? The awesome people you’d get to meet. To our community, Vijay Shekhar Sharma needs no introduction. He is a founder who has always been extremely passionate about design. On the Friday, Vijay is delivering a keynote on “Why I think great design will change our world?“. He will be followed by Nishant Jain, the designer-evangelist from Delhi on “What makes a great product?”
On the Day Two, you will get to meet and greet senior design mentors, likeRahul Saini, Anuj Bhargava, Arun Jay, Nav Chatterji and Himanshu Khanna and more, who’d help you thrash the finer aspects of design. After the submission deadline, you present your solutions to a array of eminent jury members, including Satyan Gajwani, the 28-year old CEO of Times Internet.
In next 30 minutes, we announce the grand prize of the evening – ₹1,00,000 and two tickets to the Filmfare awards program in 2014 – and break for dinner and beer. Even the runners-up get ₹50,000 as the prize money. Don’t lose heart if you can’t make it to the top two. Every participant will get a goodie bag consisting of a ₹500 coupon from Indiatimes Shopping, one-month subscription of Gaana+ and BoxTV, sponsored by Times Internet, and a host of other giveaways.
